The 2023 Subaru Solterra utilizes an EV system to give the brand the first emission-free ride in its lineup. It uses two electric motors which generate 215 horsepower combined, along with 249 pound-feet of torque. There are four different drive modes to navigate all types of conditions and terrain such as Eco, Normal, Power, and X-Mode, the latter of which is familiar to many Subaru drivers as it is on multiple vehicles currently in our lineup. Along with that, it has a 228-mile range on its 18-inch tire options and 222 miles on 20-inch tire options. The electric motors combine to give you a 72.8-kWh battery, which can be recharged with a Level 2 home charger, or public and fast-charging stations. With a fast charger, you can get up to 80 percent charge in under an hour. Subaru also estimates that the 2023 Solterra will offer 94 miles per gallon electric equivalent.
